M.Tech Mechatronics or Master of Technology Mechatronics is a Post-Graduate Information Technology programme. Mechatronics is designed to provide students with a formal qualification in engineering at the master’s level. Mechatronic engineers blend the disciplines of mechanical engineering, computing and electronics to create a huge range of products.

The Mechatronics course emphasizes industry interaction, featuring guest lecturers in the areas of project management, intellectual property, ethics and patenting. In their final year, students undertake an industrial design project in which they can apply their technical knowledge and research skills, using state-of-the-art facilities. Mechatronics is the synergistic combination of precision mechanical engineering, electronic control and systems thinking in the design of products and manufacturing processes. It relates to the design of systems, devices and products aimed at achieving an optimal balance between basic mechanical structure and its overall control.

M.Tech Mechatronics Eligibility

  • The candidates must have qualified for their Graduation such as B.Sc / BE / B.Tech degree in a relevant subject from a recognized University.
  • The students should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA at their Bachelor's.
  • Some of the very renowned universities and colleges conduct an entrance examination for admission.

M.Tech Mechatronics Course Suitability

  • Those who are capable of designing, implementing and operating these systems to meet an increasing need in an industry where the complexity of projects is done with limited resources are suitable for it.
  • They should be good decision-makers such as considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Applicants should also be known for operations analysis like analysing needs and product requirements to create a design.
  • Students also have quality control analysis skills like conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

How is the M.Tech Mechatronics Course Beneficial?

  • The Master of Technology course teaches them to design, construct and run factory production lines and automated processes, where they use their skills in computers, micro-controllers, programmable logic controllers, programming, industrial sensors, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric drives, the design of mechanical structures and mechanisms and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Graduates have a lot of job opportunities with companies that use advanced automation equipment and computer-integrated manufacturing systems, in the private and public sectors, in fields such as aerospace and advanced manufacturing.
  • Mechatronic engineers can solve a wide range of mechanical, electrical and software problems after passing the course.
  • They can also join colleges/universities after passing this Master’s Degree course both on a government and private basis.
