MH SET 2024 - Maharashtra State Eligibility Test acronym MH SET is conducted by the University of Pune for selection to the post of lecturers in the colleges of Maharashtra and Goa.

MH SET 2024 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Aspiring Candidates must have a Master’s Degree or equivalent P.G. Diploma from an institution recognized by U.G.C.
• Should possess a minimum of 55% aggregate marks
• 50% aggregate marks are required for SC/ ST/ PH/ VH candidates
• Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year)  examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. 
• However, such candidates will be admitted for the SET Examination provisionally. Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of the SET result with the required percentage of marks failing which they shall be treated as disqualified. 

Note

The candidates who are studying in the first year of a two-year Master's course or in the first two semesters of a four semesters course of Master’s Degree are not eligible to appear for this test.

Important

Candidates can appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only. As per the U.G.C. rules the candidates who have passed M.Sc (by Research) are not eligible to appear for the SET Exam.

MH SET 2024 Exam Syllabus

The syllabus of the exam consists of subjects from the qualifying subjects.

Paper-I

• It will consist of questions of general nature intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.
• It will primarily be designed to test the following,
  • Reasoning Ability,
  • Comprehension,
  • Divergent Thinking,
  • General Awareness of the candidate

Paper-II and Paper-III

• It shall consist of questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.

MH SET 2024 Exam Pattern

MH SET will be an objective type multiple choice type of test paper consisting of three papers. 

All three papers will consist of only objective-type questions and will be held on the day of the Examination in two separate sessions as under.

Note: There will be no negative marking

Only those candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for the final preparation of the result. 

However, the final qualifying criteria for eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by the Moderation Committee before the declaration of the SET result.

MH SET 2024 Exam Dates

The exam is normally held in the month of June.
