RSET 2024 - Rajasthan State Eligibility Test for Lectureship acronym RSET is conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer for determining eligibility for Lecturership in various Universities, Colleges, and Institutions of Higher education in Rajasthan State only. The subjects are:

RSET 2024 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

  • Aspiring Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from University/Institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science and Application, Earth Science, Population Studies, Education, etc. are eligible for RSET Exam.
  • The Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually Handicapped (VH) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master's degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

Note: Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master's degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master's degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ ST/ PH/ VH category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of the SET result with the required percentage of marks failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

Important

  • The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in RSET.
  • Candidates are required to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. In case the subject of a candidate is not included in the list of SET subjects, the candidate may appear in UGC NET/ UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year.

Note: Candidates possessing post-graduate diploma/certificate courses, should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their courses with a Master's Degree of a recognized Indian university from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.

 

RSET 2024 Syllabus

The syllabi for all the RSET papers are that of the UGC/CSIR, NET examination.

For science subjects viz. Life Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Science:

Paper-I

It will be according to the syllabi of UGC-NET.

Paper-II

It will be from the Syllabi of Section (B) of paper I of CSIR and paper III will be from the syllabi of paper II of CSIR.

RSET 2024 Pattern 

RSET exam consists of two sessions containing three papers i.e., Paper-IPaper-II, and Paper III.

Paper-I

  • It shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.
  • It will primarily be designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper-II & III

  • It shall consist of Objective type questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.

  • Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for the final preparation of the result.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • A candidate who does not appear in paper-I, will not be permitted to appear in Paper-II and Paper-III.
  • For Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates thirty minutes of extra time shall be provided separately for paper-I and paper-II. For Paper-III forty-five minutes of extra time shall be provided. They will also be provided with the services of a scribe who would be a graduate in a subject other than that of the candidate.
  • Those Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates who are not in a position to write in their own handwriting can also avail of these services by making a prior request (at least one week before the date of SET) in writing to the center superintendent. Extra time and facility of scribe would not be provided to other Physically Handicapped candidates.
  • In case of any discrepancy found in the English and Hindi version, the questions in the English version shall be taken as final.

 

RSET Exam Validity

  • The SET certificate is valid for that particular state only and forever.
  • Recruitment to the post of lecturer may be made from among the SET qualified candidates by Universities/Colleges/ Recruitment Agencies as per their prescribed procedures and Rules & Regulations.

 

How to apply for Rajasthan State Eligibility Test 2024?

  • Aspiring candidates can apply Online which can be filled up through e-Mitra Kiosk or C.S.C. authorized by the state Govt.
  • The candidate should pay a sum of Rs. 40/- (Rs. 30/- for filling out the application form + Rs.10/- for depositing of examination fee) in addition to the examination fee.
  • The candidate can fill up his application form at his own level on www. rpsconline.rajasthan.gov.in, after depositing the examination fee at the e-mitra kiosk/CSC.
  • The Proforma and instructions for filling out the Online Application Form are available on the commission’s website.

Note: Before his/her final submission of an online application, the applicant should take a print-out of the filled-up application form for his/her record and ensure that all the entries have been filled by him/her correctly. The creamy layer candidates of backward class/Special backward class of Rajasthan and the SC / ST / OBC / S.B.C (creamy layer/ Non-creamy layer) candidates other than Rajasthan, come into the General category.

 

RSET Examination 2024 Fee

The candidate should submit his/her examination fees through e-Mitra Kiosk, C.S.C Center authorized by the Rajasthan Government.

Note: The Commission has the right to allow any center other than the selected center without assigning a reason. The admission Card along with Attendance Sheet will be uploaded on the Website before the Exam and the candidate may appear in the Exam by downloading it.
