Sports Coach Eligibility
There is no formal qualification required for those aspirants who themselves have played the same or related sport up to a considerable level. How to become a Sports Coach?
Aspiring candidates have to follow the given steps to become a Coach.
Step 1
Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance test conducted by various Universities providing 3 years of degree courses in the colleges affiliated with them. However, some colleges/universities also give admission on the basis of % of marks obtained in the qualifying class
Step 2
After completing these 3 years, of course, one can either go for a coaching assignment with School or clubs sports team or can opt for a postgraduate course in sports coaching, an individual will have to be a graduate and not necessarily in sports coaching whereas to be eligible for a doctoral degree in sports coaching an individual should have an undergraduate degree and post graduation in the same.
There are also a number of institutes that offer diplomas in sports coaching. In order to be eligible for these diploma courses, an individual will have to be done with a 10+2 or an equivalent. Some institutes may also require their students to be graduates in order to be eligible for the diplomas in sports coaching offered by them.
