Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), Anantpur is one of the campuses of the institute especially meant for girls. Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning is an independent and self-governing institution. SSSIHL Anantpur has been recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and the University Grants Commission (UGC), as a Deemed University vide their notification no.F9-11/81-U.3 dt.10.11.1981. It was established by the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (Public Charitable Trust), which in turn has been established by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the Founder of these Trusts. Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), is a unique institution that is a pioneer in providing Educare - a system of education that blends secular knowledge with spiritual knowledge. It is a visible manifestation of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's vision of education for human transformation. All the campuses are all located in areas surrounded by mountains, greenery and nature, which helps create an ambience for integral education that the University curricula imparts. SSIHL Anantpur Campus is exclusively for women and it offers various Undergraduate, Professional, Postgraduate Programmes and Research Programmes.
Apart from this campus, there are other three campuses of the Institute - The Brindavan Campus, located in Kadugodi, Whitefield, Bangalore in Karnataka, The Muddenahalli Campus, located in Muddenahalli, Chickballapur, in Karnataka Prasanthi Nilayam Campus in Andhra Pradesh. The Prasanthinilayam Campus is the main one, as it does not only have specialized research and computer facilities, but also the Central Library, the Multimedia Learning Centre, the Planetarium, and the Museum of Eternal Heritage
Location - Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantpur campus is situated about 5 kms. away from the heart of Anantapur town on the Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway. The town is situated between the two major South Indian cities, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It is about 350 km. south of Hyderabad, and approximately 200 kms. north of Bangalore. It is at a distance of about 80 kms. from its headquarters at Prashanti Nilayam.

SSSIHL Anantpur Facilities
Free Education - The University does not charge any type of fees - tuition fees, laboratory fees, library fees, examination fees, caution deposit and the like.
Open Admission Policy - It enables students from all over the country to seek admission to various courses, irrespective of income, class, creed, religion or region, making it truly national in character.
Merit Based Selection - It is done through a very comprehensive testing and interviewing procedure giving adequate weightage to intellectual attainments and intuitive insight.
Student-Teacher Ratio - It has a very favourable Pupil Ratio for closer rapport between students and faculty.
Residential Character - This character of the University with students and faculty entails staying on the Campuses.
Development of Scientific Research - It is provided at the doctoral level relevant to the local and national needs; introduction of educational technology through the installation of a modern space theatre in rural surroundings providing an opportunity for the students and the faculty to develop various kinds of simulation exercises and also formulate programmes of a creative and constructive character.
Integrated Courses - It has duration of five years in order to promote talent.
Maximum Number of Working Days - Fuller utilisation of national holidays and important festivals for educational purposes and extension work.
Hostel -Hostel is compulsory for all students admitted to the University’s programme. Hostel life revolves basically around 3 D's - Discipline, Duty and Devotion. The Hostel routine has been structured, bearing in mind Bhagavan Baba's directive that all aspects of the Student's being (i.e., body, mind and soul), should receive due and careful attention. The day begins with early rising and prayer (5 a.m.) and ends with prayer and retirement to bed (10 p.m.). During this period, time slots are reserved for various activities - spiritual, cultural, physical, academic and social. Students are also encouraged to participate in community-oriented activities, both in the Hostel as well as the college.
Sports and Games - Students are encouraged to play sports and games both in the mornings and in evenings on the play fields. Students form themselves into house teams and conduct tournaments between the teams. An annual tournament and athletic meet is organized and students who distinguish themselves are awarded certificates of merit. With facilities for Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Squash, Table-tennis, Badminton, Gymnastics and Yoga/Aerobics, this stadium - measuring 100 metres by 60 metres on a 4.8 acre site, is amongst the largest open-frame space domes in the country. It has a spectator capacity of 4,000.
Yoga Classes - The University provides lessons in the philosophy of Yogasanas and physical fitness exercises. Students are welcome to join these classes to improve their health and physical fitness and advance further in Yoga.
Reservation of Seats Under SC/ST Categories - A) For Scheduled Castes: 15% - If sufficient number of candidates are not available to fill up the seats reserved for SCs, they shall be filled up by ST candidates. The left over seats, if any, shall be filled up by the candidates from the general pool. B) For Schedule Tribes: 7½% - If sufficient number of candidates are not available to fill up the seats reserved for STs, they shall be filled up by SCs. If ST seats still remain unfilled, they shall be filled up by the candidates from the general pool.
Achievements
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has granted accreditation at the A++ level to the University of Higher Learning for five years, from 2002-03. This places the University in the top bracket of the Indian Universities.
