With everything going online there is a great scope for the professionals adopting electronics engineering as a profession.
Electronics Engineer is responsible for improving productivity in industries like oil, energy, agriculture etc. Safety in transportation, factories, mines and in homes depends a lot on electronic devices. The endless uses of these devices have made them so important in daily life.
Electronics Engineer work with devices that use extremely less amounts of power. He works with microprocessors, fibre optics, telecommunication devices etc. Lesser use of power in the power crises make electronics engineering all the more important.
Increased demand for communication gadgets, computers and military electronics and increased research and development on robots and other types of automation has contributed towards the growth of electronic engineering as a career. Aspiring candidates having a creative and analytical mind along with good command in physics and mathematics will probably find themselves suiteable for electronics engineering as a prospective career.
To undertake all these works in an effective and efficient manner an Electronics and communication engineer requires not only a high level of engineering knowledge but also extraordinary supervisory and administrative skills.
Young aspirants with discipline, patience, commitment to excel in their respective field and self-confidence as their traits can compete to enter top engineering institutes to get expert training and knowledge to refine their skill before adopting electonics engineering as a profession.
How to become an Electronic Engineer?
There are two options that one can follow to be an Electronics Engineer
1. Aspiring candidates can join some Polytechnic providing Diploma in Electronic Engineering.
Eligibility to become an Electronics Engineer

Eligibility for joining a Diploma in Electronics Engineering course is 10th Class pass or appeared.
Step 1
Interested candidate has to appear in an entrance test conducted by the Technical Education Boards of various State Governments and selected candidates are admitted in the Diploma colleges according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.
Like in the State of Punjab in India Joint Entrance Test (JET) where as in the State of Haryana Diplome Entrance test (DET) is taken to admit the students in its diploma engineering colleges.
This exam is generally held in the month of May-June and consists of Objective type questions on the subject of English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Aptitude.
Step 2
On completion of three years Diploma course the diploma electronic engineer can either join some job as a Junior engineer or assistant engineer or can compete to get admission in the second year of degree in engineering course which is provided by some of the regional engineering colleges of the state. OR
Diploma electronic engineer can pursue their engineering studies through AMIE (Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers) - An alternate option for getting an engineering degree.
AMIE introduce non-formal engineering education Programme, successful completion of which is recognised as equivalent to a degree in engineering by the government of India, the union public service commission, state governments and public/ private sector organizations.
2. As a second option Electronics Engineering aspirant can opt for 10+2 followed by admission in the Electrnics Engineering Colleges for Bachelors in Electronic Engineering Courses.
1. Educational Qualification
To be eligible for joining a Degree course in electronics egineering one should be 10+2 class pass or appeared in Non-Medical stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects with minimum of 60% marks in PCM for most of the prestigious collages.
Step 1
Eligible candidates have to appear in the entrance tests conducted by various state universities (like PU, KU, Delhi University etc), Central Govt organizations like AIEEE and independent institution (like IIT’s , BITS Pilani etc) present at various places in the India.
