About ITM University - Gwalior

ITM University (ITMU), Gwalior is a multidisciplinary university. ITM University-Gwalior is sponsored by Samata Lok Sansthan, a registered charitable Trust. The Trust was successfully running various top ranking Institutions in discipline of Engineering Technology, Life Science, Computer Applications, Management, Nursing and Education etc. for the last 15 years. In 2009, the Trust proposed to establish world class University under ‘Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Evam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam 2007’. After complying to all the norms and formalities mentioned under the act, ITM University was established in May 2011 by Madhya Pradesh State Government under section 2(f) of UGC Act and Notified in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette (extra ordinary) after receiving the assent of the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. The flagship Institutions under ITM Group of Institution are known as ‘ITM Universe’ – brand name. ITM University offers courses which are approved by Council of Architecture (CA), Indian Nursing Council (INC), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). ITM University is accredited by International Accreditation Organization (IAO). The university is also offering academic programmes in cooperation with University of Staffordshire, UK and University of Greenwich, London, UK. It has an area of 165 acres sprawling lush green environs of Vindhyachal ranges. ITM University has its own flag which is carried ceremoniously by students in Inter-University, National and Regional events all over India and abroad. The University flag symbolises the upward holistic movement of student’s personality and inclusivity with social responsibility as shown by vertical and horizontal arrows. The logo (emblem) of the University is placed in the background of a rust hue, the colour of Earth and shows no bias towards or against any particular faith or belief.

Special Features of ITM University

E Learning Platform - All the courses of the university are delivered via e-learning platform making learning more customized and personal. The university works three e-platforms viz., Management Information System (MIS), Student Information System (SIS) and Smart Campus (ERP Software) to offer students personal and customized academic and administrative services 24x7 hrs.

Choice of Subjects - All subjects that are the part of the programme are only proposed ones. Students can craft their degrees selecting few MOOC courses and online courses from foreign universities.

CAS - ITM University is the first to adopt Continuous Assessment System (CAS) which is being adopted by IITs, IIMs and best universities of world. All programmes are offered using Choice Based Credit System, Multiple Entry and Exit option and Semester/ Trimester system.

Flipped Learning – The university utilises the concept of flipped class since what used to be class work (the lecture) is done outside of class and what used to be homework (assigned problems) is now done in class. The technology is used to time shift the delivery of content

Co-branded Courses - The University has built a range of partnerships in research, education and training – including with industry and business, professional associations, not-for-profit organisations, government funded research agencies, other educational institutions at national and international level. Co-branded courses have been developed in active partnership with industry, some of these are - MBA in Supply Chain and Logistics in association with Safexpress, MBA in Human Resource Management and Industrial Law with Walchand Dale Carnegie and MBA in Wealth Management in association with ICICI Direct.com

Transportation - Gwalior is centrally located 317 Kms from Delhi and 400 Kms from Bhopal. It is well connected with Delhi, Bhopal, Indore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad by trains, road and by air from New Delhi and Jabalpur.

Facilities at ITM University Gwalior

Hostels - A boys’ hostel with a capacity of 1150 beds is located within the campus. The hostel is well equipped with basic recreation and indoor sports facilities. Semi mechanised and hygienic mess and dining facilities that can accommodate 800 persons at a time has also been created. A girls’ hostel having capacity of 200 beds is also located within the campus. Transport facility is provided to hostlers for outings to the city.

Residential Accommodation for Faculty - A well equipped residential complex has been constructed having independent apartments furnished with modern amenities.

Research Laboratories – The University has various laboratories.

Some of these are:

Library – The University is maintaining both print as well as online library with big number of book and online resources. Digital library has been developed by University with 45 PCs enclosure. The multi media room has been especially dedicated for on line storage of web lectures, journals and e-content.

Bank Branch and ATM Facility - A UCO Bank Branch is situated within the campus. Just close to the main gate of ITM, State Bank of India has its ATM facility.

Scholarships – The University offers various scholarships.

Some of these are:

a) Sports and Cultural Scholarship

• 100% scholarship for International players/Performers (Cultural).

• 50% scholarship for National medal winners/National Performers (Cultural). (Gold, Silver & Bronze position only)

• 25% scholarship of National sports/cultural participation.

• 10% scholarship for State sports/cultural participation.

b) Scholarships for Military and Paramilitary Forces

• 10% scholarship on Tuition Fees.

Computing Facilities – These are spread across the campus that helps students in knowledge acquisition and other academic work. In addition, a 60 mbps line powers a host of hot spots located in the campus.

MHCC - ITM University has an in-house modern Medical Health Care Center (MHCC). The Centre provides preventive, promotive as well as curative health care services in order to ensure positive health for all. A full time specialist doctor is stationed 24x7 hrs., who conducts regular health check-ups and provides medical attention as and when needed. MHCC has a well equipped clinic with required equipments and 5 beds for in house patients apart from one ambulance which is available round the clock.

Facilities for Differently abled Students - The University works actively with Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust, a Voluntary Agency dedicated to the cause of differently abled people, to create infrastructure for them. If they require specific arrangements for examinations such as additional time, someone to write on their behalf and/or use of a computer, the university provides the same. Facilities like ramps, lifts, adapted drinking water provisions and others have been provided all through the campus.

Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities – ITM University is one of the biggest centre of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities which are very important for all round development of students. More than 500 experts from industry and research institutes visit the University every year. ITM University is the preferred destination for performance by world renowned artists like Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Palash Sen and Rock Bands like Indian Ocean, Euphoroia, Bandish, Aryans and many more. It holds a music festival annually, which has gained quite a popularity in the entire country. ITM University through these activities carries forward the tradition of preserving and promoting Indian Classical Music. There are various clubs of the university like the art club, music club, literary club, eco club, dance club, project club, debating club, science club, theatre club and many more. The activities of these clubs offer students opportunities to unleash their potential in fields of music, dance, cinema, photography, theatre and various others.

Zero Gravity - Zero Gravity is a meditation and yoga club where anyone can try in attaining equilibrium of the mind and the body. Occasional activities to de-stress the students through yoga and breathing exercises are organized.

Spic Macay - Spic Macay is a society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth. ITM University Gwalior has one of its chapters. The society organises concerts, lectures, demonstrations, informal discussion and seminar for the promotion of Indian culture and arts. ITMU has been regularly organising painter’s camps, month long international sculptor’s symposiums, classical concerts, music fests, dance and poetry events, literary meets etc. The campus sees the best of paintings, sculptures, and motifs, apart from the musings of the best poets and musicians.

NSS - The main focus of the scheme is on personality development through community service. The NSS Unit of the University organizes regular and special camps related to health and hygiene, literacy, environment, personality development, etc. These camps are usually held in the campus or in the adopted villages. NSS Unit also deputes volunteers to various Inter State Camps, National Integration Camps and also Inter State and National Cultural Festivals.

Sports – University provides facilities for various outdoor sports like cricket, football, athletice, handball, kho kho, kabaddi etc. The University also house a sports complex which offers a wide range of outdoor and indoor sports facilities and activities for students and faculties.

Gym and Health Club - The University has established a gym and health club in an area of around 11000 sq. ft. keeping in mind the health of the students.

Coffee Points - Apart from the structured teaching and learning schedules, the University has provided platforms for relaxation, exchange of views, and free discussions among students and faculty alike by establishing coffee points. These points are also instrumental to arouse the thinking blended with objectivity and utility among young ITMites over a cup of coffee.

Convention Centre – The university convention centre includes the facility of an amphitheatre and five seminar halls.

Counselling - The University’s Counselling Service offers a free and confidential service to all students at the University. Professional counsellors and mental health advisers are available to talk through any personal or emotional concerns that you might have during your time at the University.

Training - TAP Cell is responsible for arranging training programmes with the help of industries on the skill sets required to succeed in the placement interviews.  The cell provides training for Communication Skills, Analytical Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Basic Mathematics, Personality Development, Workshops on topics relevant to branch as per requirement of Industry, Practice Sessions. It also conducts various activities like Mock Tests (online as well as manual), Mock group discussions and Mock Personal interviews to test the analytical aptitude and logical reasoning etc. Guidance for last minute preparation for the expected companies is also conducted so as to meet the requirement of the industry/ company/ organization.

Alumni – The University also conducts alumni reunions regularly, to foster relations with former students, exchange latest news, catch up with old friends and see the University. Students generally feel more of an affinity with alumni than with any other professional, this helps the alumni to mentor students. It also helps in strengthening academic programmes, develop first-rate facilities and resources, support outstanding faculty and enrich the student experience. ITMU Alumni Association also exposes its members to appreciate delicate aspects of human life and to be fully aware of quality quotient. ITMU Alumni stands for certain values in the campus. Help and encouragement are the prime values of the alumni association and it always act as a bridge between the present students, management and the former students.

Guest House - A well furnished Guest-House is attached with faculty residences to accommodate guest faculty and prominent personalities visiting the University.

Security - The institute has employed round-the clock security stationed on campus. Each student is insured compulsorily under road traffic accident policy and is also covered by group insurance scheme taken by ITM University.
