M.V.Sc or Master of Veterinary Science is a Post-Graduate Agriculture Science and Technology Course. The M.V.Sc (Master of Veterinary Science) program is a two-year full-time postgraduate program. The Master of Veterinary Science program is developed specifically for students who want to work with animals and wildlife. Students will learn about numerous elements of animal care and treatment in this course.

Students that study veterinary sciences may diagnose and cure animals, as well as conduct additional research in this subject. Veterinarians care for household animals, livestock, and wildlife animals' medical ailments and illnesses. Animal studies are taught to Master of Veterinary Science students through courses such as Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology, Livestock Economics, Animal Genetics and Breeding, and others.

M.V.Sc Eligibility

  • Candidates should have completed B.V.Sc & AHB from a recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, and are eligible for an M.V.Sc course.
  • Admission is based on marks obtained in PG Entrance Examination. The minimum age limit for M.V.Sc is 20-22 years. Some Institutes do not have an upper age limit while some keep the upper age limit to 35 years.
  • Candidates who have passed B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree under the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) regulations should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks. Percentage requirements may vary depending on the institute. For SC/ST candidates a minimum pass is sufficient. 
    For foreign, NRI, and PIO candidates, the basic qualification of an M.Sc degree will have to complete deficiency courses as decided by the Advisor/Advisory Committee.
  • The minimum eligibility criteria for them will be a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with a CGPA of not less than 6.60 on a 10-point scale i.e., 66% marks.
  • The selection of candidates for admission to M.V.Sc shall be done based on the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Examination and the qualifying examination marks obtained in the B.V.Sc & A.H Courses.
