AP TET 2024 - Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test acronym as AP TET is conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh in all districts of the State.

AP TET 2024 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

  • Aspiring candidates at the time of applying for AP TET should be having the minimum qualifications prescribed for a teacher for category I to V classes (Paper-I) and VI to VIII classes (Paper-II) as given below or should be pursuing Teacher Education Course during the respective year or earlier.

For Classes I-V

  • For candidates already in possession of Respective Teacher Education Certificates or pursuing the final year of respective Teacher Education Course during the respective year or earlier:
  • Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 45% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent) with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

Note:1 Relaxation of 5% or such percentage as permitted by Govt. at the time of admission to Teacher Education Course concerned in minimum qualifying marks at Intermediate / Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates.

For Classes VI-VIII

  • For candidates already in possession of Respective Teacher Education Certificates or pursuing the final year of Respective Teacher Education Course during 2020-2021 or earlier:
  • B.A / B.Sc / B.Com and pass in or pursuing the final year of 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
  • B.A / B.Sc / B.Com pass with at least 45% marks and pass in or pursuing a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) Course. OR
  • B.A / B.Sc / B.Com pass with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)* Course. OR
  • Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) Course. OR
  • Intermediate /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of 4-year B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed Course.

Note: Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks in Intermediate/Senior Secondary Level is admissible for SC/ST/Differently abled candidates. Also, relaxation of 5% or the quantum of relaxation in terms of the Government Orders given at the time of admission into respective Teacher Education Course in minimum qualifying marks at BA / B.Sc / B.Com is admissible for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates.

If the candidates have not secured the requisite % of marks in Bachelor's Degree (B.A / B.Sc / B.Com / but secured in Post Graduate Degree in relevant school subject she/he will be eligible for applying for Paper-II. The above relaxation of 5% or the percentage permitted by the Government is also applicable in this regard as well for candidates belonging to SC / ST / BC / Difficulty abled candidates.

In addition to the above, candidates possessing Language Pandit Training (LPT) certificate or those pursuing LPT Course during 2020-21 or earlier are also eligible. The qualifications are as follows:

Telugu Pandit: B.A (Telugu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language-Telugu)
Bachelor of Oriental Language Telugu or a graduate degree with optional subject Telugu or MA (Telugu) pass or pursuing Telugu Pandit Training Certificate

Hindi Pandita graduate degree with optional subject Hindi or Bachelor of Oriental Language Hindi or Praveen of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha or Vidwan of Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad or any other equivalent recognized qualification in Hindi (BA Standard) by the Government of A.P. or M.A., Hindi pass OR pursuing Hindi Pandit Training Certificate.

Urdu Pandit: BA (Urdu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language Urdu) OR Bachelor of Oriental Language Urdu or Graduate Degree with optional subject Urdu or M.A (Urdu) pass or pursuing Urdu Pandit Training Certificate.

Other Languages (Bengali, Gujarathi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Sanskrit, Tamil): A Graduate Degree in the Language concerned pass or pursuing Pandit Training in the Language concerned or B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the methodologies

Note: A diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in the case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

Note: Intermediate qualification of Board of Intermediate Education of A.P. or Senior  Secondary Education of a Recognized Board only will be considered. So also the Bachelor's Degree of a University Recognized by UGC only will be considered.

AP TET 2024 Pattern

All questions in AP TET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers on AP TET

  • Paper, I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper, II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

The pattern of Paper for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Teacher

There shall be only one paper consisting of 150 Multiple Choice Questions.

Level of Paper I

The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and be learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

The Test items for Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction, (as chosen from the list of prescribed language options in the application form).

The Language-II will be from among the prescribed options other than Language-I. A candidate may choose any one language from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the application form. The test items in language II will also focus on the elements of language, communication, and comprehension abilities.

The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities, and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes: I–V, by the Jharkhand State Government/SCERT.

The questions in the tests for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed for classes: I–V, but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be up to the secondary stage.

The pattern of paper for becoming a Teacher for Classes VI-VII: Elementary Stage(TGT)

Level of Paper II

The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on the educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners, and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

The test items for Language-I will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction, as chosen from the list of prescribed options in the application form.

The Language-II will be a language other than Language-I. A candidate may choose any one language from among the available options and as in the specified list in the application form and attempt questions in the one indicated by the candidate in the application form by him. The Test items in Language-II will also focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

The test items in Mathematics and Science and Social Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each. The test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes VI-VIII by the State Government/SCERT.

The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Jharkhand State for classes VI-VIII but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be up to the senior secondary stage.

 

AP TET Medium of Examination

The question paper shall be bilingual i.e., it shall be English followed by the Language I chose for all languages except for Sanskrit. For Sanskrit, it shall be Telugu followed by Sanskrit.

Aspiring candidates can apply only online by visiting the AP TET website i.e., http://aptet.cgg.gov.in, and follow the instructions given there.

AP TET is normally held in the month of September tentatively.

 

APTET Exam 2024 Fees

For General / SC / ST / OBC, the fee of the exam is Rs. 500/-.

 

APTET 2024 Test Centres

APTET will be conducted at 13 districts and centers in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai.
