KSET 2025 - Karnataka State Eligibility Test for Lectureship acronym as KSET is conducted by the University of Mysore in the state of Karnataka for determining eligibility for Lecturership in various Universities, Colleges, and Institutions of Higher education in Karnataka State only.
However, those candidates, who have been awarded Ph.D. Degree in compliance with the "University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedures for the award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulation 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of K-SET for recruitment and appointment of Lecturers or equivalent position in Universities / Colleges / Institutions".

KSET 2024 was held on-
Important: Such candidates must complete their Master's Degree examination within two years from the date of K-SET result with the required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master's level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5 % in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55 to 50%) for appearing for K-SET. However, Candidates shall appear to the K-SET on the subject of their post-graduation only.
Note: Candidates possessing post-graduate diploma/certificate courses, should in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their courses with a Master's Degree in a recognized Indian university from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi
KSET will consist of questions from the relevant subjects on the pattern of the UGC-NET.
K-SET exam consists of two sessions containing three papers i.e., Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III which will be evaluated only if a candidate secures minimum prescribed marks in Paper-I and Paper-II.

Important
Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates who are not in a position to write in their own handwriting can also avail of these services. However extra time and facility for scribes would not be provided to other Physically Handicapped candidates.

KSET exam is normally held in the month of December tentatively.
