  • To be eligible for joining BHMS/DHMS course one should be a 10+2 Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as main subjects and for institutions with at least 50% marks.
  • In addition, candidates also should have had English as a compulsory subject at the 10+2 level.

  • Homeopathic Doctors should possess active listening, critical thinking, science, speaking, judgment and decision making, complex problem solving, service orientation, and active learning skills.
  • They should possess skills like accounting software, information retrieval or search software, label-making software, medical software, and spreadsheet software.
  • They should also have skills like well-developed interpersonal, communication, and listening skills for case-taking and patient management.

 

How to become a Homeopathic Doctor?

One has to follow the below-given steps for admission and other course-related aspects-

Step 1

Interested candidate has to appear in entrance tests conducted by the various state and Independent bodies to admit candidates in various medical institutions like (A.M. Shaikh Homoeopathic Medical College, Belgaum, (Karnataka) Aadya Shri Nigalingeshwar Shikshana Sanstha's, S.B. Shirkoli Homoeopathic Medical College, Belgaum, (Karnataka) Ahmednagar Homoeopathic Medical College, Ahmednagar, (Maharashtra) Ahmedabad Homoeopathic Medical College, Ahmedabad, (Gujarat) attached with it according to the rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.

These exams are generally held in the month of May-June and consist of Objective type questions on the subject of English, Physics, Chemistry; Biology through a number of questions and patterns may vary from test to test.

The results of these exams are generally out by June/July

Step 2

After completing this four and half year of (BHMS) Degree course and one year or six months of compulsory training one can opt. for a job is a private or state-run hospital as a junior doctor or go for private practice after obtaining the necessary affiliation with the respective medical council or go for higher specialized studies in the respective fields.

Fees and Other Expenditures: Although varying from college to college, the total course fee for a BHMS degree ranges from anywhere from few thousand at a government college to around Rs 3 lac.
