Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur, is not only an Autonomous, Technical Institute but also a Deemed University. It is devoted exclusively for Information Technology (IT), Design and Manufacturing (D & M). It was established by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in January 2005, mentored by IIT Kanpur. IIITDMJ was established to promote inter-disciplinary education and research. The institute is also known as Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur. Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra was an Indian National Congress politician, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh (during 1960s), a Writer, a great Freedom Fighter and a Diplomat. The Institute campus is located at a 250 acres land in the area of Meghawa, Dumna Airport Road Jabalpur.
How to Reach Jabalpur
1. Roadways - Jabalpur is well connected by road route. The national highway 7 connects Jabalpur to Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh.
2. Railways - Jabalpur is also well connected by Train. Direct trains are available for major destinations of India from Jabalpur.
3. Airways - The Dumna airport connects few major airports of country. The flight from all major Indian cities reaches to Dumna airport via Delhi and Gwalior at regular basis.
Reaching the Institute
a) The Institute is approximately 13 km from the bus terminus, 10 km from the railway station and 3 km from the airport.
b) Once you reach the city, you can hire a taxi or auto to reach the campus.
c) Institute runs bus service from campus to city. The bus timings are available on the institute’s website.
Facilities at IIITDMJ
Hostels - IIITDM Jabalpur is a fully residential campus. All the students are required to be resident of Institute hostels.
Amenities provided by the hostels include:
Library – It has approximately over 10,000 number of books as of 2013. The Institute library also has e-resources through INDEST, Science Direct, IEEE, ACM, Springger Link, Nature and ASME .The Institute also has access to various online research journals and resources like SIAm, AMS, ACS, Kluwer, APS, Palgrave, INFORMS, Rev.of Scientific Instruments, Appl.Physics Letters and the search engine Scopus.
Computer and Communication Centre – The centre provides internet access, e-mailing facilities and computation facilities. It also provides network connectivity to the residences.
Bank – There is a branch of Allahabad Bank in the institute campus.
Laboratories – The institute has various laboratories.

IIITDM Jabalpur – Japan Collaboration - The IIITDM Jabalpur- Japan collaboration is an aspect of a wider partnership envisaged between Japan and India. The Institute is being developed and nurtured under India-Japan partnership as a unique Institute of its kind with focus on IT enabled design and manufacturing. Under a joint agreement between the two Governments, Japan provides support for development of the teaching and research programme and also to promote the infrastructure of the Institute.
Sports – There are facilities for sports like football ground, volleyball court, basketball court and tennis court.
Counselling Service – IIITDM offers counselling service to help students help through difficult times like academic problems, Interpersonal Relationships, worry, Feeling down or depressed and various others.
Transportation - Regular bus services are operated by the Institute to provide transportation for the nearest Cantt market and railway station.
Medical - Medical and Ambulance services are available 24X7.
Gymkhana - Students’ Gymkhana has been constituted to evolve a disciplined self-governance for carrying out various extracurricular in-campus activities and to establish a responsible and accountable student body. Students’ Gymkhana is governed by Student Senate and is headed by Dean, Students, who is nominated by Board of Governor of the Institute for three years. Dean (Students) chairs all the meetings of the Student Senate and guides student representatives in organizing gymkhana activities throughout the year. IIITDMJ students have formed various clubs under Students Gymkhana, which organises various cultural, sports and science & technology activities throughout the year.
Campus Fest – Ever year the institute students organise inter-college festivals like Tarang (Cultural Fest), Abhikalpan (Tech Fest) and Gusto (Sports Fest) in the campus of the institute. Various other festivals like DMD battle (Cultural event), Enthuse (Sports event), Photography Exhibitions, Robotics events, etc, are also being organized by students. Institute has also opened SPIC-MACAY chapter under whose banner various cultural and folk events are being organised.
Internship - The institute has introduced and has successfully implemented project based internship (PBI) for six month. These projects are at various national and international organizations/corporate like CapitoliQ, Adobe, Motorola, Wipro, TATA steel etc. and in Japanese industries such as Canon Japan, Amamda, Sumitomo Metals, Hitachi, Toshiba etc.
