Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MPSVV) or Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University, Ujjain is a unique university as it has been especially established for preservation, and propagation of Sanskrit and allied languages. Also known as Maharshi Panini Sanskrit University, this state university was established by the government of Madhya Pradesh under the Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2006 (No.15 of 2008). It was established by the governor and chancellor of the university Dr. Balram Jhakhar under the leadership of the chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivaraj Singh Chouhan at Ujjain on 17th August 2008. Its name was changed from Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya to Maharshi Panini Sanskrit Evam Vedic Vishwavidyalaya on 25th March, 2010. MPSVV campus is spread over 25 acres of land.
