People's University is a Private University managed by Sarvajanik Jankalyan Parmarthik Nyas, Bhopal. The trust is involved in setting up hospitals, educational institutes, shelters for the poor and underprivileged and undertaking other philanthropic projects for the welfare of the public. People's University was established by the Madhya Pradesh legislature through an amendment in Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam-2007 as Madhya Pradesh Act (No.18 of 2011). Bhopal as a Private University is empowered to award degrees as specified by UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. It is credited to be Central India's largest single-campus University. Its campus is spread over 69.19 acres of area. It is an environment-friendly campus, home to several architecturally striking buildings. People's University has ten constituent institutes and many of the constituent institutes’ are recognized or approved by concerned Statutory Bodies/Councils like Medical Council of India (MCI), Dental Council of India (DCI), Indian Nursing Council (INC), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) Paramedical Council.

Hostels and Residential Premises - Separate Hostel facilities are available for girls and boys in various constituent institutes of the university.
Library - There is a Central Library established in the University Teaching Department. It has a collection of more than 3000 books of all disciplines including text and reference books, journals, magazines, audio/videos, CD-ROMs, research reports and Digital Library. It is spread over an area of 300 Square Meters. Book Bank facility is also provided to the students. Digital Library enables the students and staff to search the availability, request and reserve various books and other reference material available in the libraries at the comfort of their houses. Apart from the central library there are separate libraries of the constituent institutes.
Laboratories - There are about 95 laboratories belonging to various constituent institutes.
Teaching Hospital – The teaching hospital of the University is an associated one. It is involved in various government schemes like RNTCP, National Blindness Control Program, National Leprosy eradication etc.
IT Enabled Campus – The University has computing resources and network across the campus. It has dedicated IT Departments, internet with dedicated leased line and biometric systems for attendance of faculty.
Innovative Classrooms - The classrooms are architecturally designed with optimal room for natural light and air. LCD projectors, laptops and video players etc. are attached in classes. All these facilities enable the teachers to teach in a unique and innovative manner and improves the pace and quality of learning.
Bank - A branch of the Central Bank of India with its ATM operates in the Campus.
Post Office - Postal Services are provided by a branch of Indian Postal Service.
Sports Facilities – The University has its own stadium with facilities for games like Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Hockey and Cricket.
Gymnasium – The gymnasium is spacious and well equipped with modern facilities.
Medical Facilities - The University has a Medical and Dental Hospital which provides free Medical and Dental facilities to students and employees of University.
Auditoriums - The University has many auditoriums and numerous other performing areas. These are used for a variety of events like cultural programs, seminars, debates, plays and other programs conducted throughout the year. The University Auditoriums are centrally air-conditioned with a fully sound proof set up and equipped with latest technology for all types of audio-video presentations.
