Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (ABHV) is a Unique University as it is totally dedicated towards the development of Hindi Language. The University has been primarily established to promote Hindi Language in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It has also been established to promote the language as means of instruction and study for subjects like science, arts and various others and for spreading knowledge. The medium of study and instruction at the University is in Hindi and all research is also done in Hindi Language thus all subjects are taught in Hindi Language. It is compulsory for all students to take Hindi Language as a subject. ABHV was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 19th December 2011. Its foundation stone was laid by President Pranab Mukherjee on 6th June 2013 at Gram Mugliya Kot on a land of 50 acres. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University is a non-affiliating university and is named after former Prime minister of India and Hindi poet - Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The jurisdiction of the university is spread over all Madhya Pradesh. The governor of the Madhya Pradesh state is the Vice Chancellor of the University.
