Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysore is one of the five campuses of Amrita University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The institute is a non-affiliating university and does not receive any aid or other financial assistance from the Central or State Government. The Mysore Campus of Amrita University comprises of Two Schools – I) Amrita School of Arts and Sciences and II) Amrita School of Education. These are located side by side on 5 acre campus. The Schools offer bachelors and masters programs in several disciplines. Amrita School of Arts and Sciences, Mysore, like all schools of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has adopted a credit based system in keeping with the best traditions of international universities. The School of Education offers B.Ed. programme of two semesters with Choice Based Credit Scheme and Continuous Assessment Grading Pattern. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, is well connected by road, provides an ambience for learning, combining state-of-the-art facilities with a serene ashram and temple atmosphere. The campus is result of the efforts of Respected Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi and is managed by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, a service oriented worldwide spiritual organization. In addition to the regular academic programme, the university also provides corporate training, sessions on personality development, stress management, communication skills, positive thinking, group discussion, training for personal interview and career guidance by experts.
There are separate hostels for boys and girls in the campus itself. The campus hostel has two separate blocks for boys and girls accommodating around 750 students with hot water supplied to all blocks. The rooms are furnished with a bed and shelves for each occupant. Various other facilities like - wifi, TV, convenience store, medical care and local/STD/ISD facility are also available at the campus.
The Library has huge collection of volumes consisting of text books, reference books, general books, CDs, national and international journals, magazines, periodicals etc. The Library also provides access to the IEEE Xplore digital library which is a powerful resource for discovery and access to scientific and technical content published by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The Library also provides access to Springer Link having a collection of 2,486 E-Journals & 3,633 E-Books, which is the world's most comprehensive online collection of scientific, technological and medical journals, books and reference works. The college library has subscribed to inflibnet NLIST program having a collection of 19,107 E-Books & 5,517 E-Journals, extending access to resources to colleges under UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium.
The Digital Library is appropriately known as Vidya. It began as a modest Digital Information Repository, but the mounting demand for quality learning found an effective answer once VIDYA collected and organized learning materials from some of the most reputed universities/ research centres on the world. VIDYA is a multimedia-rich 1.5 Tera Byte of organized information comprising audio and articles, video lectures, journals, news shows and documentaries running into thousands of hours of programmes from around the world. All these are available exclusively to Amrita students on the campus network through Streaming and On-demand mode.
The School canteen is located about 200 meters within the premises which are equipped with fully functional vegetarian hygienic food for students and the staff at reasonable cost. Snack bar and Photocopy facilities are also provided here.
The school facilitates the students with progression and overall development through physical education by providing gym and sport facilities. Outdoor sports such as cricket, football, basketball, volleyball as well as indoor games like table tennis, chess and caroom are provided in the campus.
The campus provides a multi gym facility that has well maintained fitness equipment that is utilized by the students and faculty members under the guidance of a professional trainee.
There are 5 laboratories each with 36 workstations that are well maintained under the. Each laboratory has resources of internet and a printer. More than 180 nodes are connected via ethernet switches of the network. Thus ensuring that there is atleast one high end computer available to each student and faculty within the campus. The campus has 24 Mbps internet connection. The well equipped labs at Amrita provide access to students on a 1:1 basis
Amrita provides its local students with pick up and drop facility from strategic point in the city.

Placement - Centre for Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR) at Mysore Campus caters to the placement needs and requirements of the students.
CIR - Centre for Corporate and Industry Relations organizes innovative need-based training programmes for the overall development of each and every student in the areas beyond academics, with a view to equip them with the required skills that are indispensable in the corporate scenario. Training programmes generally focus on General Aptitude and Soft Skills to ensure better suitability of the students for the corporate world. The services of Amrita Alumni (Amritians) working with reputed companies are being widely utilised to groom the students for corporate readiness. CIR also organises industrial visits and live projects which enhances the industrial exposure and employability of the students. CIR also facilitates training sessions for the students to face competitive exams like CAT, GMAT, MCA Entrance Exams etc.
Alumni - The alumni network is called 'Amritians'. Presently, there are over 15,000 alumni, including about 2,000 graduates of the MBA stream. Amritians provides a platform to network with fellow batchmates and interact with teachers.
