GITAM University, Bengaluru Campus is one of the three campuses of GITAM University, the other two, being the GITAM University Visakhapatnam and GITAM University Hyderabad. The term ‘GITAM’ stands for Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management. The institute is also a deemed to be university. It is one of the few universities that have been accorded 12-B status by the University Grants Commission facilitating research. GITAM University Bengaluru campus was established in 2012 on a sprawling 60 acres campus. Recognizing the holistic education the University is imparting, the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India ranked GITAM as 'A' category University among the universities of its kind. The university is strategically located in the Prestigious IT capital of India-Bengaluru, which is blessed with the presence of companies of global repute like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Mind Tree, JP Morgan, KPMG, Volvo, Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Biocon etc. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities with modern classrooms, laboratories, playfields and other student support services.

• GITAM School of Technology
• Bengaluru School of Management Studies

Facilities

Hostels - There are two blocks of hostels providing residential facilities, these are - Vinay Sadan (Boys Hostels) and Kokila Sadan (Girls Hostels).  Separate suite model hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. In each suite there are three single rooms with single occupancy. Each suite is provided with a separate wash room, rest room and wash basin and internet connection. The hostel blocks are provided with television, reading room, indoor games (Caroms, Chess, Table Tennis and Shuttle Badminton), R.O. water for drinking, washing facility with washing machine, round the clock security, qualified doctors etc.

Library - GITAM University, Bengaluru campus library is also known as Knowledge Resource Centre. It has a collection of 7000 volumes and 1000 titles of documents from all the disciplines of engineering and management.

Financial Assistance

The University offers financial assistance to the deserving meritorious candidates as follows:

• Merit Scholarships will be offered by way of tuition fee waiver for top 100 rankers of GAT (UGT) 2015.

         i) Students with ranking between 1 to 10 will get 100% Tuition Fee exempted for first year

         ii) Students with ranking between 1 to 10 will get 50% Tuition Fee exempted for first year

         iii) The continuation of these scholarships for the subsequent years will depend upon their academic
             performance  

• Merit-cum-Means Scholarships will be awarded to 5% of students in each department of the academic institutes of the University @ Rs. 2,000/- per month depending upon merit of the student and income of the parent
• Merit Scholarships will be awarded to GATE qualified students of M. Tech. under TEQUIP-II project, subject to a maximum of three students in each program @ Rs. 8,000/- per month.
• Stipends / Teaching Assistantships will be offered to meritorious students of M. Tech. and M. Pharmacy depending upon the need and availability of suitable candidates, subject to a maximum of three students in each program @ Rs. 5,000/- per month

Canteens - Subway and Amurtha food court cater to the needs of the students and staff on the campus. The food courts on campus serve different varieties of food to suit the divergent tastes of the students and staff.

Banks - At present Union Bank of India with ATM facility is catering to the needs of the students and the campus.

GUSAC – Bengaluru – Also known as GITAM University Science Activity Centre, Bangalore, it is a platform for bringing out innovative concepts. Owing to the needs of the profession, a conglomeration of enthusiastic students who can exhibit their talent and assist the fellow students to upgrade their skills are encouraged to form teams by GITAM School of Technology under GUSAC-Bengaluru.

GUSAC-Bengaluru has Four teams

1. Designing and Organizing Club (DOC)
2. Tech Wizards
3. Ideas Club
4. Sports Club

Activities under these clubs are as follows;

• Seminars - Conducting events and training students through seminars and conferences.
• Reviews - Students are encouraged to use the Digital library, improve skills and to know the basic knowledge of programming.
• Developing games, Apps and working models - Ready to work for incubation centres.
• Competitions – These would be conducted either in GST or in the other Institutes and schools on topics related to technical skills

Sports – GITAM encourages students to participate in National and International level games and sports. To meet the challenges in this direction, the campus has a play ground with international standards with 400 metres track, football, hockey and cricket grounds.

NSS - NSS activities are organised by the University, these inspire and motivate the students to bring awareness in public on various issues and participate in various social welfare activities.

Seminars – Seminar are held on regular intervals and enlightened professionals from industries and other institutes of international repute are invited to these seminars. The objective of these programmes is to acquaint the students with the skills required for better career and personality development. These also improve communication skills in learners; make them aware of new technologies and other environmental and technical developments.

Placement Cell - The University has established a placement cell which trains and guides the students in finding lucrative placements.
