MFA - MVA Master of Fine Arts


Fine Arts in terms of academics, is the study and creation of visual works of art. Visual works of Arts can be in the form of painting, sculpture, dance, theatre, architecture, photography etc. Master of Fine Arts is a Post Graduate Academic Degree in the field of Fine Arts. It is popularly known as MFA or MVA which is an abbreviated form of the Master of Fine Arts degree or Master of Visual Arts degree. Both are one and the same thing. Generally, under this course a candidate undergoes training by registering under any Lecturer, Reader or Professor under the guide-system or system of the institution. The emphasis of MVA program is on practical studio, prescribed theory subjects and research in selected fields.

Eligibility

  • For pursuing Fine Arts Degree in Fine Arts one requires to have acquired the BFA Degree from any recognized University.
  • Some Institutes allow candidates appearing for the final year degree examination to apply for the program, provided they are able to produce their mark sheets as per the stipulated time specified by the Institute.
  • Foreign students studying in Indian Universities are required to appear in the Common Entrance Test. Foreign students, who have already qualified from Indian universities, are required to submit their latest GMAT scores failing which their applications will not be considered. Those foreign students do not belong to either of the above categories, i.e. (i) and (ii), are supposed to submit their latest GMAT or TOEFL scores.
