Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITK), Kota is an institute of higher education specialising in education of Information Technology. It is the third national level educational institute of Rajasthan after MNIT-Jaipur and IIT-Jodhpur. IIITK is a joint venture of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India with Industries in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota, Rajasthan (IIITR) has been set up on with 50 per cent of the amount contributed by the Centre, 35 per cent by Rajasthan government and 15 per cent by private companies in partnership. Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) are a group of institutes of higher education in India, focused on information technology. They are established, funded and managed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Like Kota there are IIITs at Guwahati, Trichy, Kottayam, Sonepat, Vadodara and other areas. IIITR has been established to impart technical education of international standards and conduct research at the cutting edge of technology to meet the current and future challenges of technological development. Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur is the Mentor Institute of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kota. The classes for IIIT Kota are being held at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur from year 2013. MNIT is a temporary campus and the independent campus of IITR is under construction at Ranpur, Kota. The Students admitted to B. Tech.(Computer Engineering) program of IIIT Kota may be accommodated in the hostel premises of MNIT Jaipur as per the availability of hostel rooms.
