Agriculture University, Jodhpur is an Agricultural University established on 14th September, 2013 vide Act No. 21 of 2013. It has been established to bring highly competent educated human resources in agriculture and allied sciences and upliftment of the economy of farming community. The priority of enhancing crop production under limiting water conditions would occupy the central focus. The jurisdiction of the University comprises 6 districts of agro-ecological zone out of 12 Districts of Arid-Semi-arid region. These are Arid Western Plain Zone Ia (Jodhpur and Barmer districts), Transitional plain of Luni Basin Zone IIb (Jalore, Pali, Sirohi districts) and part of Transitional plain of inland drainage IIa (Nagaur district). The University comprises 27% of total geographical area sustaining 20.8% human and 28.4% animal population, respectively. All students are provided with facility of library, laboratory and computer with internet facilities to keep them updated with latest information. There is also a well established research farm to provide the students a platform to have practical knowledge in the field of agriculture. The university also has a NSS Unit which is involved in activities like tree plantation, sanitation etc.

Agriculture University, Jodhpur has temporary headquarter at Agriculture Research Station (ARS), Mandor which is located on the outskirt of Jodhpur city 10 km away from railway station on NH 65 leading toward Nagaur and Bikaner.
