Fellowship in Cardiac Rehabilitation (FCR) is a six months duration Medicine course. It provides students with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to organize, manage and deliver a Cardiac Rehabilitation program within a Hospital & Community setting. The course is based on the WHO guidelines for cardiac rehabilitation, which promotes evidence-based practice for individuals who have had a known cardiac event as well as primary prevention of cardiac diseases. After passing the course, candidates can go for further higher research degree programmes.

  • Students should be a Physiotherapy Graduates or MBBS Graduates & General Practitioners (Including BHMS, BAMS and BUMS).

  • Candidates should be able to gather information on patient history and information related to risk factors for heart disease; establish an exercise program for the patient.
  • They should be able to perform blood and glucose monitoring; evaluate patient prior to each exercise session for contraindications for starting the exercise session.
  • They should able to develop care plan for the patient, including nutrition and medication; give direction on appropriate rehabilitation activities based on patient’s physical response to exercise.
