M.D. Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology or Doctor of Medicine in Blood Transfusion & Immunohaematology is a postgraduate Medicine programme. This course deals with the study of antigen-antibody reactions and blood disorders. It is an emerging course in comparison with other contemporary courses in the field of medical science. Immunohaematology is a study of antigen-antibody reactions and blood disorders. At the end of the course, a candidate must be able to understand and explain about the scientific basis of blood transfusion, understand the processes of blood collection, processing and component preparation. It helps to understand and explain the basis of pre-transfusion testing. After the course candidates should be able to explain and diagnose the adverse effects of blood transfusion.
