The course describes aetiology, pathophysiology, principles of diagnosis and management of common problems including emergencies, in adults and children. It helps to develop communication skills, in the skill to explain various option available in management and to obtain a truly informed consent from the patient. A candidate pursuing the course should work in the institution as a full-time student. No candidate should be permitted to run a clinic/laboratory/nursing home while studying a postgraduate course.
