Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences has been established w.e.f. 1.12.2010 in pursuance of the Haryana Act No. 7 of 2010 notified on 7th April, 2010. The University is located in Hisar, Haryana and it is named after the freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. The College of Veterinary Sciences has been incorporated in this newly established University. The college was earlier a constituent college of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. The university is currently operating from a temporary campus located at CCS HAU. The University has been allotted by Haryana Government a piece of land measuring 300 acres on Hisar-Chandigarh National Highway.

Library Facilities - The University provides good and well equipped library with modern facilities both for students and faculty. There is a provision of journal articles and book chapters from more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books in the library.

Histological Achievement - ‘The detailed histological observations on the mediastinum testis of donkey, horse, camel, pig, rabbit, rat and hamster had been conducted and results were reported in an authentic reference book ‘The Testis’ Vol. IV. Edited by Dr. A.D. Johnson (USA) and published by Academic Press, New York, U.S.A.
