About MVN University

MVN University (MVNU) is a Private University established by Modern Vidya Niketan Society under Haryana State Private University Act. M.V.N. stands for Modern Vidya Niketan. MVN Society is in the field of education for more than 31 years as of 2015. It was in the year 1983 that MVN Society was founded and the same year it established Modern Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School in Sector 17. The school was established under the dynamic leadership of Late Shri Gopal Sharma, a great visionary and noted educationist. In the year 2000, M.V.N. Aravali Hills was established. Then in 2008, Les Filles MVN Institute of Engineering and Technology (Girls College) and Gopal Sharma MVN Institute of Engineering and Technology (Co-ed) were established. In 2009, Modern Vidya Niketan School, Palwal was established. MVN University was established in the year 2012 for providing higher education through UG, PG and PhD courses. Modern Vidya Niketan University has an area of 23 acre campus which includes schools providing different degrees and courses.

The Evaluation system at the University is based on the internationally prevalent credit system continuous evaluation methods in all the programmes.

The Salient features of the system are:

a) Flexibility for students to progress at suitable pace depending on individual interest and ability

b) Continuous evaluation of student's progress

c) Award of grades in a course depending on overall performance of a student

d) Performance measurement by number of earned credits (E.C). Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The use of grades helps in achieving a reasonable spread of total marks for a grade and in reducing variations due to evaluation with different teachers

e) Award of degree to a student on the basis of total E.C.s and value of CGPA

Facilities at M.V.N. University

Hostels – The University has off campus hostels for girls and boys amenities like common room, indoor games. The hostels also have mess facility, 100% power backup, round-the-clock water supply and indoor gym.

Library – The university library has a collection of relevant books and online journals. The library has a Book Bank facility, under which the students can issue books for the entire semester. The library is subscribed to DELNET and INDEST, which ensures access to a plethora of e-books, online journals, newspapers and magazines. The library is spread over an area of 1000 sqm.

Internet – It is provided through 15mbps leased line through wifi connectivity

Laboratories – There are several laboratories which provide hands-on experience to the students further encouraging the spirit of innovation.

Education Loan - The University has a tie up with Punjab National Bank/SBI/Canara bank, Faridabad.

Sports – The University provides sports facilities like basket ball, football, table tennis, skating rink, swimming pool etc.

Cafeteria – The cafeteria caters to the food requirements of the students.

Health Facilities - The campus has a well-equipped medical facility, with a full-time qualified nurse. There is arrangement for calling in doctors for exigencies and consultation. An arrangement has been made with a premier hospital located within the vicinity for medical care at subsidized charges.

Auditorium – It is used by the students, faculty, and corporate personalities for regular interfaces, conferences and other events.

Training and Placement Department – It organises all on-campus and off-campus tests and interviews. It enables the students understand the organizations and their requirements as well as prepare the students not only for their first job but also for a lifetime. To make every student industry-ready, a special training programme called Training and Placement Programme (TPP) is conducted. It provides technical skills, aptitude development, quantitative training and improves communication skills.
