Karpagam University or Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, KAHE in short, is a Deemed University. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 and is approved by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India. It has been established to impart value based and holistic education in order to enrich the knowledge and skills of students. Every year M. Phil., / Ph.D., (FT/PT) admissions are made in two session i.e., January and July session. Scholars are admitted in 34 Departments based on an Entrance test and Interview. Karpagam University has well experienced and trained faculty including about 75 Doctorates and Post Doctoral Fellows. It has visiting faculty from premier institutions like IIM, IISc and IIT. KAHE provides various Career Oriented courses through choice based credit system.

KAHE Facilities
Hostels - Separate hostels for men and women are available in the campus. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the requisite facilities.
Library – The library complex is spread over 70,000 Sq. ft. with 83469 volumes, 36836 titles of book, 5000+ E-journals, 374 International & National magazines and journals. The library also has OPAC (On line Public Access Catalogue) and DELNET Facilities.
Bank - The Indian Overseas Bank at the University campus provides immediate banking assistance to students and staff, there is also an IOB ATM, SBI ATM and CUB ATM that operates round-the-clock.
General Stores - To meet the everyday needs of students, a store is available on campus. Well-stocked with all the daily necessities, it goes a long way in making life on campus virtually hassle-free.
Telephone Booth - The students and staff can reach out to their near & dear ones through a well-maintained telephone booth that functions in the college premises.
Canteen - The canteen in the campus caters to the needs of staff and students.
Scholarships - KAHE helps students of SC/ST Communities by providing scholarships for them, from the Government of India and Tamil Nadu. Some of these are Post Matric Scholarship and Higher Education Special Scholarship.
CISCO Local Academy - The CISCO Network Training Programme is offered by an authorized local academy of CISCO Network for careers in networking.
Human Machine Interface Research Cluster – Short for HMI, it is a multidisciplinary area which covers disciplines such as robotics, electronics, computer science, electrical, automation, biomedical, psychology and neuroscience. It is a part of the Faculty of Engineering, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education (KAHE). The cluster aims to work on research problems and innovative projects that extend the state of art in human machine interfaces. The cluster works in multiple domains of interfaces between machines and humans involving neuroprostheses, brain computer interfaces, brain machine interface, machine vision, hand prostheses and gesture based interfaces for robots. HMI research includes a broad spectrum of studies on using human voice, emotion, gesture, brain signal (EEG), motor signal (EMG) interfaces to operate and control external devices for rehabilitation of the voice and movement impaired people. HMI is a non-muscular communication pathway between the human and an external device. HMI is popularly known as brain–computer interface (BCI) or a brain machine interface (BMI). HMIs are often aimed at assisting; augmenting or repairing human cognitive or sensory-motor functions. HMI is collaboration between human and an external device that enables a non biological or a digital communication to direct some external activity, such as control of a computer cursor, a robot, a prosthetic limb or a wheelchair.
E-Classroom - Karpagam Academy of Higher Education e-classroom initiative involves a team of highly proficient content developers who work on the latest technology platforms to create content with multimedia inputs, rich animation, text, graphics and instruction designs. To make the teaching sessions livelier, interactive video streaming methodology is adopted.
Food Processing Centre - It is funded by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India. It conducts special short-term training for women on Food Processing and Preservation.
Community Development Centre – It conducts Entrepreneurship Development Programmes for youth and women in collaboration with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and District Industries Centre (DIC).
Panniru Thirumurai Research Centre – It has been established to study and research ancient Tamil Literature, Mythology and Culture. It conducts several symposiums, workshops and music festivals.
Laboratories – Various department laboratories cater to the research based activities of the students.

Multi Purpose Auditorium - The auditorium is used for multifarious activities and it is spaced out to accommodate huge gatherings.
NCC - To develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service among the youth to make them useful citizens, the university offers NCC facilities to the students.
NSS - NSS volunteers undertake various activities in adopted villages and slums for community service. The NSS Units organise these activities regularly. To get the NSS volunteers acquainted with the basics of NSS programmes, orientation through lectures, discussions, field visits are frequently arranged. The NSS volunteers are also involved in various projects like - development of play grounds, laying of gardens, tree plantation in the premises, awareness programmes on drug-abuse, AIDS, Road safety, Blood camp, Eye camps etc.
Corporate Relations Cell – It gears the students to be resourceful assets to their future employing organizations. Towards this, students are prepared with need-based training right from the first year onwards. Expert trainers from the industry impart their experience to enlighten the students. Interviews and campus visits are conducted every year which fosters corporate relations.
Career Development Cell – The cell provides training to students to make them employable right from the first year. Career Development Program is offered by Department of Training and Placement which is designed, after thorough analysis of distinctive requirement of diversified companies. This training program is imparted with the help of in-house training team and reputed training Institutes which smoothens the recruitment process and enables the candidates to gain confidence in the interview process.
