Old Age Care is a health-care vocational trade. The duration of trade is six months or one semester. There are so many topics taught in the class such as how to provide care, supervision and support for people with disabilities in the home, residential establishments, clinics and hospitals; work with other health professionals to maximise the individual's physical and mental wellbeing; provide companionship and emotional support and promote independence and community participation and the like others. This is good and career orienting as it makes eligible for so many health-care jobs at various places.

 

Old Age Care Trade Eligibility

  • Students should be passed in 8th class examination from a recognised school board in the country.

  • Students should possess patient, flexible and understanding; supportive and caring nature; commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified lives.
  • They should also possess the ability to accept responsibility; good communication skills; able to work as part of a team.
  • They should be able to cope with the physical demands of the job and able to perform domestic duties efficiently.

 

How is Old Age Care Trade Beneficial?

  • After passing trade, students can work in old-age care centres both government and private run.
  • They can also go for further higher Diploma and Bachelor Degree courses so as to enhance their qualification in rank in case having job.
  • They can work in Aged Care Facility (Nursing Home), Community Residential Home, Hospital or Health Care Settings and Adult Day Care Programs.
