Tourist Guide/Assistant Tourist Guide is a tour and travel management vocational trade. The duration of trade is one year with two semesters of six months each. During the trade, students are taught about topics like that how to work for tour and travel guide companies, cruise lines, visitors' bureaus and hotels as seasonal workers, independent contractors or full-time employees; how to lead walking tours, driving tours or cruises through popular sites, national parks, historic neighbourhoods, museums or other regional points of interest. Trade is an important one which opens many career fields in tourism industry both in native and foreign countries. There are many ITIs offering this trade for students in the country.

 

Tourist Guide Trade Eligibility

  • Students should be passed in 10th class examination for a recognised school board in the country.

  • Students should be flexible and proactive; having good presentation skills and enthusiastic and friendly.
  • They should have good verbal communication skills; able to interact with people from different backgrounds.
  • They should possess multiple language skills; able to work with a team; time management skills; able to retain historical facts; excellent knowledge about points of interest of specific cities.
