Dress Making is a custom clothing vocational trade. The duration of trade is one year with two semesters of six month each. Dressmaking is the craft of sewing clothes and dresses and the art of sewing a beautiful dress from fabric. Students are introduced to different topics such as boutique/domestic Brands, designer to a boutique, stylist in boutique, consultant to a boutique, be-spoke designer, design assistant in export units, design services in e –tailing and production merchandiser, etc. Trade course is career orienting in nature that offers many career scopes for them after its successful along with further higher studies.

 

Dress Making Trade Eligibility

  • Students should be passed in 10th class under 10+2 system of examination from a recognised school board.

  • Students should be creative, with an eye for colour; quick and neat; accurate, with an eye for detail and able to work well under pressure.
  • They should be good at maths, so they can make calculations and take measurements accurately.
  • They should be honest with their clients about how clothes look on them and good at customer service.
  • Candidates also possess good communicators and listeners with the ability to interpret a client's requirements.
