Foundryman is a foundry related vocational trade. The duration of trade is one year with two semesters of six months each. During the trade students are introduced to different aspects of foundry like observing safety and knowing the use of personal protection and fire safety equipments; working as a semi skill worker in foundry shop floor; preparing sand, mould, core; operating different furnace; knowledge in melting point temperature of different materials and colour code and quality of product and knowledge of Technical English terms used in industry. Students after passing trade have good job opportunities.

 

Foundryman Trade Eligibility

  • The minimum admission qualification is 10th Class pass with Science and Mathematics under 10+2 system of Education or its equivalent from a recognised school board in the country.

Foundryman Trade Required Skills

  • Students should possess good fitness levels, good communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and good team-working skills.
  • They should have the ability to work on a range of different tasks and an awareness of health and safety matters.
  • They should have capacity of bearing common heat as when furnaces are used to melt metals for moulding and casting.
