Interior Design & Decoration is an interior decoration vocational trade. The duration of trade is one year with two semesters of six months each. Trade teaches students about different aspects related to interior designing and decoration such as planning and execution of the layout, decoration and furnishing of an architectural interior. It also tells about pairing an open floor plan with complementary furniture and decor accents, or creates atmosphere or mood with lighting or wall sconces. After passing the trade students can have jobs at various places like hotel, palaces along with further higher studies.

Interior Design & Decoration Trade Eligibility

Students should be passed in 10^th class under 10+2 system with minimum of 40% independently in Science and Mathematics from a recognised school board in the country.

Interior Design & Decoration Trade Required Skills

Students should be able to think about construction plan, sectional elevation, perspective views, plumbing, electrical, painting and finishing; estimating for masonry work and wood work etc.
They should have a creative thinking for designing various types of stair cases, false ceilings, and partition walls.
They should also possess an artistic touch such as specification of paints, colour, finishing of wall and ceiling and furniture.

How is Interior Design & Decoration Trade Beneficial?

After passing trade successfully, students can have jobs in specialized design services industry or for architectural, engineering and related services industries.
They can have decorating work/job in private homes, public buildings and business or institutional facilities such as offices, restaurants, retail establishments, hospitals, hotels and theatres.
