AIPGMET Exam 2024 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Candidates who possess Indian Nationality, with proof in the form of a Nationality Certificate / valid passport, are eligible to appear for AIPGMET.
• Candidates should have passed the final M.B.B.S examination from a recognized medical college, included in the schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• Candidates who have obtained registration either from the Medical Council of India or from the authorized State Medical Council after completing a one-year compulsory rotating internship, are also eligible.
• A candidate who is still undergoing a one-year compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete it by 31st March of the year of the Examination is also eligible to appear at the AIPGMET. His / Her selection will be subject to completion of a compulsory rotating internship of one year and registration before 15th April. He/she will have to submit documentary evidence from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the anticipated date of completion of internship along with the application, failing which, his / her application shall be rejected.
• NRI, PIO, or FN candidates who have passed the M.B.B.S. or equivalent examination exam from a college outside India shall be eligible for admission, provided he/she obtains registration from the Medical Council of India.

AIPGMET Exam 2024 Pattern

• AIPGMET consists of  300 marks containing 300 multiple choice questions of one mark for each of the MBBS examination levels.
• There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

How to apply for AIPGMET 2024?

• Applying the brochures can be obtained from the University office on payment of Rs. 1000/- in cash or D.D.  OR
• (if required by post) through a requisition letter (specifying the brochure required) along with a demand draft of Rs. 1250/- drawn on any nationalized bank, in favor of "Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth", payable at Pune. OR
• By downloading from the University Website. The downloaded form is to be submitted along with a demand draft of Rs. 3000/- (Form Fee + Test Fee + Postal charges).

AIPGMET 2024 Exam Dates

This All India Medical Entrance Test is held in February, mostly by the 2nd Week of February.

    
Selection Procedure

• The candidate should obtain 50 % or more marks at AIPGMET to qualify for admission.
• The provisional selection for General Seats in the Post Graduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test.
• When all the Seats in a given course are filled admission of students to that course will instantaneously cease and Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Pune, will not be responsible for the non-availability of seats and non-allotment of seats to the rest of the candidates.
• Management Seats: 50% of seats are reserved as management seats. The candidate desirous of seeking admission against management seats should apply separately in the prescribed form, available on the University Website. The selection of candidates for management seats will be done according to the inter merit of the applicants in the entrance test.

Tie Break for Equal Marks

In case two or more students obtain an equal number of marks at the entrance test i.e., in case of a tie, the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding the final merit :

If there is a tie between two or more candidates having an equal number of marks at the entrance test

• First Level: The candidate, having more marks in the final year of the M.B.B.S. examination shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then-
• Second Level: The Candidate, having higher aggregate marks in all the university examinations of the M.B.B.S. course shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then -
• Third Level: The candidate, having more marks in the subject of his / her choice (for PG) at the university examination of the M.B.B.S. course shall be preferred.
• Result and Merit List: The merit list will be displayed on the notice board of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College in March and will also be available on the website at www.dypatiluniversity.org.
• Results of the individual candidate will not be communicated on the telephone or by post
• There shall be no rechecking / revaluation of answer sheets and verification of marks of the AIPGMET.
