DUMET 2013 - Delhi University Medical-Dental Entrance Test is conducted by University of Delhi for admission in Medical Under-Graduate Courses, i.e. M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. in the following Medical colleges:

Educational Qualification

Candidates aspiring to appear in this Pre Medical Entrance Exam must have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system with required subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognised school conducting regular classes and situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

The candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (40% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 45% marks in case of OBC category) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The candidates must have studied 11th and 12th classes regularly from a recognised school situated within the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Age Limits

The candidates should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year in which the Test will be conducted.  

The candidates completing the age of 17 years on 1st January or later will not be eligible for admission.

Reservation

  • Female candidates from outside Delhi belonging to SC category, ST category and CWWAPP (Children, Widows & Wives of Armed & Para Military Personnel )category who have passed the qualifying examination from Indian Universities/ Boards or Foreign Universities/ Boards are eligible for admission to Lady Hardinge Medical College only against the seats reserved for these categories, subject to their fulfilling the prescribed conditions.
  • Physically Handicapped candidates having disability of lower limbs from 50% to 70% are eligible and may apply as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.
  • In the event of all the seats reserved for PH (Physically Handicapped) category not being filled up from among the Physically Handicapped candidates with above stipulated physical disability then the seats will be offered to the candidates with the physically disability of 40% to 50%.

How to apply for DUMET?

The application form along with Bulletin of Information (BOI) is obtainable from the office of the Deputy Registrar, Faculty of Medical Sciences, 6th Floor, V. P. Chest Institute Building, University of Delhi, Delhi- 110007, against a Bank Draft/ Banker’s Cheque drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of ‘Registrar, University of Delhi’ payable at Delhi in the following manner:

By Hand - It costs Rs.750 for general and OBC category candidates and Rs.550 for SC/ST/PH category candidates between 9.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on all working days from 3rdd Week of January to 1st week of March. BOI is not available in cash payment.

By Post - It costs Rs.800 for general and OBC category candidates and Rs.600 for SC/ST/PH category candidates, along with a self addressed envelop of 12” x 10” up to Mid February.

  • Application form can also be downloaded from - www.du.ac.in or www.fmsc.ac.in and submit the same, duly filled in and complete in all respects with requisite demand draft to the office of the Deputy Registrar, Faculty of medical sciences, 6th floor, V.P. chest institute building, university of Delhi, Delhi on or before 2nd Week of March, up to 03.00 p.m.
  • The application form along with bulletin of information can also be obtained, by hand only, from Lady Hardinge medical college, Maulana Azad medical college and university college of medical sciences.

DUMET Syllabus

The standard of the test will be as per syllabus prescribed by the University.

DUMET Pattern

The DUMET is a single stage entrance test for admission into Medical Colleges under University of Delhi.

The Test consists of two papers containing multiple choice objective type of questions

DU MET Exam Dates


DU MET is normally held in the 3rd Week of May.

DUMET Exam Selection Process

  • The admission is made strictly on the basis of merit of the eligible candidates in each category, determined by marks obtained in the DUMET.

  • In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the DUMET, the inter-se-ranking of such candidates shall be determined in the following order of preference: The candidates who have obtained higher marks in Botany & Zoology in the DUMET.

  • The candidates who have obtained higher marks in Chemistry in the DUMET.

  • The candidates who are older in age.
