KAIET 2024 Eligibility

Educational Qualification

The Eligibility criteria of qualifying Examination for various courses is as follows:

For MBBS and BDS

For B.Sc (Nursing) For B.P.Th
  • A candidate to open category must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks, taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination.
  • In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40%.
  • A candidate belonging to the open category must have obtained not less than 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English have taken together at HSC (or equivalent) examination.
  • A candidate belonging to the backward class must have obtained not less than 40 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English took together at HSC (or equivalent) exam.
  • The candidates should have only a passing grade at HSC / 12th standard or equivalent Examination.

Important: The above eligibility criteria are also applicable to NRI and Foreign Nationals, however, they shall submit equivalence certificates obtained from appropriate Authorities.

Age Limits

The candidate must have attained the age of 17 years.

 

KAIET Exam 2024 Pattern

The KAIET consists of 1 common question paper in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology(Botany & Zoology) consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) as given below:

There will be no choice among the questions. The candidate is expected to attempt all the 200 questions. Out of four circles provided for the selection of answers against a question, the candidate should fill up one circle only. Each correct answer will be given one mark. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers. Scratching, overwriting, tick marks & multiple answers will be considered as wrong answers and no marks will be awarded to them. The medium of examination shall be English only.

The candidates get an Online Application Form available on the official website www.kimsuniversity.in and can be submitted within the stipulated time as per the following instructions:

Relevant and complete information and data entry are to be made in the online application format by the candidate to download the application form.

The hard copy of the downloaded application form along with the Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- in favor of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, payable at Karad should be submitted within the  stipulated time to:

An application form will also be available at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University office, Karad, (9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on payment of Rs.500 and by post with an additional payment of Rs. 100, by DD in favor of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, payable at Karad. The filled form should reach the university on or before the scheduled date along with a DD of Rs. 1000/-.

KAIET Syllabus of Physics

Physical World and Measurement

  • Physics: Scope and excitement; nature of physical laws; Physics, technology, and society.
  • Need for measurement: Units of measurement; systems of units; SI units, fundamental and derived units.
  • Length, mass, and time measurements; accuracy and precision of measuring instruments; errors in measurement; significant figures.
  • Dimensions of physical quantities, dimensional analysis, and its applications.

Kinematics

  • The frame of reference, Motion in a straight line; Position-time graph, speed, and velocity. Uniform and non-uniform motion, average speed, and instantaneous velocity. Uniformly accelerated motion, velocity-time, and position-time graphs, for uniformly accelerated motion (graphical treatment).
  • Elementary concepts of differentiation and integration for describing motion. Scalar and vector quantities: Position and displacement vectors, general vectors, general vectors and notation, equality of vectors, multiplication of vectors by a real number; addition and subtraction of vectors. Electrostatics

  • Electric charges and their conservation. Coulomb's law-force between two point charges, forces between multiple charges; superposition principle, and continuous charge distribution.
  • Electric field, electric field due to a point charge, electric field lines; electric dipole, electric field due to a dipole; torque on a dipole in a uniform electric field.
  • Electric flux, statement of Gauss's theorem and its applications to find field due to an infinitely long straight wire, uniformly charged infinite plane sheet, and uniformly charged thin spherical shell (field inside and outside)

Current Electricity

  • Carbon resistors, color code for carbon resistors; series and parallel combinations of resistors; temperature dependence of resistance.

Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism

Optics

  • Reflection of light, spherical mirrors, mirror formula. Refraction of light, total internal reflection and its applications optical fibers, refraction at spherical surfaces, lenses, thin lens formula, lens maker's formula. Magnification, the power of a lens, a combination of thin lenses in contact combination of a lens and a mirror. Refraction and dispersion of light through a prism.
  • Scattering of the light-blue color of the sky and reddish appearance of the sun at sunrise and sunset.
  • Optical instruments: Human eye, image formation, and accommodation, correction of eye defects (myopia and hypermetropia) using lenses.
  • Microscopes and astronomical telescopes (reflecting and refracting) and their magnifying powers.
  • Wave optics: Wavefront and Huygens' principle, reflection, and refraction of plane wave at a plane surface using wavefronts.
  • Proof of laws of reflection and refraction using Huygens' principle. Interference, Young's double hole experiment and expression for fringe width, coherent sources, and sustained interference of light.
