Diploma in Meat Technology is a twelfth level Agriculture Science and Technology course. The course aims at imparting basic knowledge and skills for the quality production of meat and meat products. The development of human resources for the industry is also part of it. Special attention is paid to the training of personnel for self-employment and creating awareness and competency in the meat processing as well as poultry processing. The focus shall be on developing competencies in good slaughter practices, handling of meat on scientific lines, production of quality meat and meat products, testing and quality control of meat and meat products. The course durations both minimum and maximum are one and four years respectively. It may also be provided by some institutes on a correspondence basis.
