B.Sc. Hons Agriculture or Bachelor of Science Honours in Agriculture is an undergraduate Agriculture Science and Technology course. Agriculture is a science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide. The duration of the course is three years (four years program in some colleges). Agriculture includes the study of various methods of agriculture, the use of modern fertilizers for the improvement of crops and the ways to improve the present technique of Agriculture with the help of modern technology. The study under B.Sc. in Agriculture (Honours) includes use of various technological aspects for the betterment of agriculture. The degree course is an important as India’s most of the population are engaged in the sector; it opens many career scopes for the candidates after its successful completion.

B.Sc. Hons Agriculture Eligibility

  • The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing B.Sc. (Hons) (Agriculture) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects studied at intermediate level. Some reputed colleges and institutes demand a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this degree course.
  • Some of the very reputed colleges and institutes also conduct entrance examination to get admission to their B.Sc. (Hons) (Agriculture) degree course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exam.
