ME Processing and Food Engineering or Master of Engineering in Processing and Food Engineering is a two-year Post-Graduate Food Technology course. The objectives of the Food Process Engineering degree program are to educate engineers and scientists in different aspects of food engineering and food processing with a specialization in the area of food process engineering.

The Master of Engineering course in Processing and Food Engineering is the application of the principles of science to the efficient commercial production of safe wholesome food from defined raw materials. Physics is the scientific basis of food process engineering but thermo bacteriology and predictive microbiology are also relevant. The Master of Engineering course in Processing and Food Engineering includes the processing of fruit, vegetable, and dairy products, particularly where such unit operations as heat exchange, pasteurization, or evaporation take place.

ME Processing and Food Engineering Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have completed a BE / B.Tech degree or equivalent from a recognized university board.
  • The candidates should have scored a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their Bachelor's.
  • Some reputed colleges and universities conduct an entrance examination for admission.
