M.Tech Food Technology or Master of Technology in Food Technology is a two-year Post-Graduate degree program in the domain of Food Technology. The Food Technology course covers Quality Control, Waste Management, Renewability, Plant Designing, Bioprocess and Fermentation Technology, and Technology of Fabricated, and Textured Foods. With the technological aspect, this course also teaches about Intellectual Property Rights, Patenting and Trade-marking of Designs, Packaging, and Labeling.

It is only a Food Technology course that can reduce the gap between harvested food and available food by changing the mode of a finished product, i.e., processing, packaging and storage conditions, etc. The focus is on healthy food, diets, calories, nutrition status, etc. The Food Technology course helps with planning and managing a production process from raw materials to finished products taking food safety and quality into account. The Food Technology course is beneficial in many fields; after passing it candidates have many career scopes.

M.Tech graduates join companies or firms as consultants, Food Technologists, Production Managers, Lab technicians, Organic chemists, Research scientists, Quality Control, and Food Inspectors. The top recruiting companies are Britannia Industries Ltd, ITC Ltd, Hindustan Unilever, Emami Ltd, Dabur India Ltd, and Parle Agro.
