Here are a few lines from a poem written by late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
My Dear Soldiers
Oh! Defenders of borders
You are great sons of my land
When we are all asleep You still hold on to your deed
Windy season or snowy days
Or scorching sun's sweltering rays
You are there guarding all the time awake
Dr.Kalam’s these words invoke a sense of awe, pride, and respect for all the Defence Personnel. It is the ultimate truth that while we celebrate our festivals, the defence personnel guard us against the attacks. Their job demands much dedication, determination and obvious control of emotions. Along with that, the life of a defence personnel is completely different from the common man. They do have a cantonment area which is cosmopolitan in nature. They get incentivized medical help, their kids have dedicated schools and colleges and not to mention the pride associated with the job.
A defence personnel boasts of strong core values, a tight-knit community, an opportunity to serve the motherland. No other career option gets you so close to serving your nation. Serving in the Army/Navy/Air Force is what many Indians dream of. And why not? You get lots of exposure and a bucket full of experiences. If you are not the regular 9 to 5 guy, you can get into this adventure-filled the field. And, this field has got the opportunity for people from all walks of life. Let us see what this field has got for you. We will be discussing opportunities in all the three Defence Forces separately.
