Chanakya National Law University  acronym as CNLU, provides integrated Law programme of five years duration for the interested students. The admission in the University is entirely done on the basis of the rank obtained in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which is conducted in different parts of the country.

Common Law Admission Test acronym as CLAT is conducted on National level by one of the seven top Law institutes of India. It is an Common Law Entrance Exam for students who want to pursue 5 years integrated law course in seven best law institutes of India. Some of the other prestigious law institutes of India also consider CLAT scores as the criterion to give admission to law aspirant’s .Performance in Common Admission Test or CLAT, followed by Group Discussions and Personal Interviews, serves as the basis for admission.

CLAT Exam Eligibility

The candidate must have passed or appeared in +2 class.

CLAT Exam Pattern

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is multiple-choice based entrance exam, with negative marking for wrong answers. It will measure candidate’s aptitude in the fields of mathematics, logical reasoning, English plus comprehension, general knowledge/ current affairs and legal aptitude/ legal awareness.

What is the admission process ?


Admission process to Chanakya National Law University  consists of following few steps:

  1. Performance in CLAT is the primary basis for short listing candidates for the second round of admission process, which comprises of GD(PI) or personal interview.
  2. After the GD/PI round, admission offers are made by the law institutes to successful candidates. The ranking and final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes and may include performance in CLAT, and performance in GD/PI,

Application forms would be issued from last week of January. Students need to submit the filled up application forms by second week of April
